The flexibility & mach inability of these materials permit design innovations & automated manufacturing techniques, which is not possible with rigid/brittle materials.

The material goes through a calendaring process and is formed into sheeting or strip. It can then be easily machined to size and magnetized. High-energy Flexible Magnets are anisotropic (oriented), whereas the regular flexible material is not. Therefore, high-energy magnets are limited to magnetization through the thickness, and are similar in strength to a Grade 1 ceramic magnet. Flexible materials offer product unique design & desirable combination of properties at lower costs than other magnet material.

Features

Can be bent, twisted, coiled, punched & otherwise machined into almost any shapes without the loss of magnetic energy.

They can also replace Ceramic 1 materials, if close tolerances are not the requirement & if operating below about 250º F temperatures.

Standard grades of flexible materials feature energy products from 0.6 MGOe to 1.6 MGOe.
